How Your January Student Massage Raised $2,000 to Protect Alberta’s Wild Spaces

Canadian Rocky Mountains, a clear lake, and wilderness protected by CPAWS, our January Giving Clinic partner.

Thanks to every client who booked a student massage on January 29 2026, the Vicars Giving Clinic raised $2,000 for the Alberta chapters of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS).

Proceeds from that single clinic day were donated to support CPAWS Northern Alberta and CPAWS Southern Alberta in their vital work: protecting the public lands and parks that contribute to our province’s wellness.

The impact at a glance

  • The January 29 Giving Clinic raised $2,000 for the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS).
  • This donation directly supports the protection of Alberta’s parks and the sensitive Eastern Slopes from coal mining.
  • Continue the impact. Book a student massage for our next Giving Clinic on February 18 to support domestic violence shelters.

Why we chose CPAWS

At Vicars, we believe in holistic wellness, caring for people, and for the natural spaces that sustain us. CPAWS champions that same value for all Albertans.

You might recognize CPAWS from its successful Defend Alberta Parks initiative, which helped save 175 provincial parks from closure. Today, their work is more crucial than ever. Both Alberta chapters are leading the effort to protect the sensitive Eastern Slopes of the Rockies from new coal mining.

This region is home to breathtaking scenery. It is the source of drinking water for nearly 2 million Albertans, a hub for tourism and ranching, and an essential habitat for species like grizzly bears and bull trout. By supporting CPAWS, you’re helping defend a cornerstone of Alberta’s health and heritage.

Your impact continues: February’s giving clinic supports safe shelter

Book a massage for our next Giving Clinic on February 18, when 100% of your student massage fee will be donated to two life-saving organizations:

  • WIN House in Edmonton, providing emergency shelter, counselling, and wrap-around support for women fleeing domestic violence.
  • Fear Is Not Love in Calgary (formerly the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter), offering crisis shelter, counselling, and healing programs for individuals, families, and communities to live free from domestic violence and abuse.

By booking a therapeutic massage on this dedicated clinic day, you provide these organizations with direct, meaningful support.
