Help spread Queer Joy this June by booking a massage on June 9 in Calgary, or June 23 in Edmonton.
Pride month is an opportunity for LGBT+ people and their allies to honour the past, celebrate the present, and fight for a happy and safe future for the queer community.
This year, we’re celebrating Pride by supporting two amazing Alberta charities with our June Giving Clinics: the Pride Centre of Edmonton, and Calgary’s Skipping Stone Foundation.
This month’s Giving Clinics will take place on June 9 in Calgary, and June 23 in Edmonton. You can support these amazing charities by booking a massage on those days!
About the Skipping Stone Foundation
Everybody deserves to feel at home in their body, and at home in their community. That’s why we chose Skipping Stone Foundation as one of our charity partners this month. They are dedicated to supporting trans and gender-diverse people in Calgary (and across the province).
Trans people are some of the most vulnerable members of the LGBT+ community. But the amazing folks at Skipping Stone are hard at work to change that! Founded in 2016, the organization offers a comprehensive, community-driven care model that connects youth, adults, and families with affirming resources and services. They provide low-barrier access to support, aiming to empower individuals to thrive in a society free from stigma and discrimination.
Their Community Empowerment Program assists clients in navigating systemic and social barriers through personalized support, including peer mentoring, community coaching, and group programs. They provide access to gender-affirming gear, assistance with legal name and gender marker changes, and connections to affirming healthcare providers.
About the Pride Centre of Edmonton
The Pride Centre of Edmonton is a vital community hub dedicated to supporting individuals of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions, as well as their families and allies. The Centre offers a non-judgmental, welcoming space that serves over 1000 Edmontonians a month.
Their programs and services include free drop-in counselling, youth programming, gender-affirming resources like the Binder Exchange Program, and the largest queer library in Alberta.
