Our Massage for Beginners Workshop is for Everyone
If you are thinking about a massage career, we recommend our Massage for Beginners workshop as a great first step. It will give you some hands-on experience, help you understand what the classroom environment is like, and you’ll have a great time. But the workshop also works as a unique and fun mini-course for anyone who has ever wanted to give their friends and family a simple, effective massage!
Why is it valuable?
Massage for Beginners is a hands-on introduction to the world of massage. During this two-day interactive workshop, a Vicars instructor will teach you the strokes and sequences for a full relaxation massage, as well as some of the science behind it.
The workshop gets rave reviews from anyone who wants a short, safe introduction to massage, who wants to learn the basics of massage to work on friends and family members, and to guarantee that they’ll be the most popular person at the next family reunion.
Get a head start
It also pays dividends as a preview of what it’s really like to attend massage school and build a massage career. Our instructors tell us they can see the difference in the first few classes between those who have taken the workshop and those who haven’t. When RMT students first begin hands-on work, everyone is nervous about getting on and off the table and staying draped, touching, and being touched. Those who have been to a workshop are prepared and confident and eager to build on what they have learned.
Be sure before you commit
Massage for Beginners is the best way to be secure about your decision. And if you come away from the workshop feeling like massage therapy isn’t for you after all, that’s just as valuable. Massage is not the career for everyone. No ethical massage school wants to enroll students who are not going to thrive!
We make it affordable
Many schools make their introductory session mandatory; Vicars has not done that because so many of our students are from out of town or out of province. But it is such good preparation for student success that we strongly encourage anyone thinking about massage school to attend. We even refund the course fee for everyone who goes on to take their diploma with us! We’ll deduct the $250 cost of the workshop from your first-year tuition.
The workshop is two days long, usually on a weekend. It costs $250, but if you bring a friend you’ll get a discount: two can register for only $350!
