The first time I walked through the doors of Vicars, I thought “Oh, this feels right.” What I loved about Vicars is that they are there for you and will do everything to help you be successful. And I loved the science-based curriculum and practical knowledge. In every job interview I had [after I graduated], people said that by hiring a Vicars grad they knew they would be getting a highly trained massage therapist who performed very well.

Hands down the most affordable and professional experience you'll receive. Although these are massages given by "students," one can tell that their training is incredibly thorough. Moreover, their staff is extremely friendly and approachable! I have nothing but great things to say about Vicars. I highly recommend!

The teachers really understood everything about being an adult student so the whole experience for me was wonderful. I loved being a massage therapist and I’m so thankful for Vicars because it was very doable, and it really did change my life. It gave me a profession that I was proud of.

When I applied for jobs in Calgary after graduation, I got several phone calls from employers just because they liked that I had gone to Vicars. Vicars graduates have a good reputation amongst clients, and with other therapists. Even after a busy day, I leave work so happy because I know that I’m helping so many people. I learned so much about myself while I was at Vicars. Between when I started school and when I finished, I gained so much more confidence: not only in my work, but in myself.

I’m not much of a classroom person – I find it hard to sit and listen to a lecture. So the fact that it was only four classroom days a month worked really well for me. It was hands-on and I got to learn a lot of information in a short amount of time, and then take it home and digest it myself and reread. That setup worked really well for the way that I like to learn.

I was working full-time and had kids. When I found out that Vicars had a weekend program, I knew that I’d be able to continue working while I was in school, which was key for us.
