We’re excited to announce that the Vicars School Giving Clinics in September will support the Canadian Forces Military Family Resources Centres in Edmonton and Calgary. Last month, we raised nearly $2500 for First Nations charities.

- Thanks to your support, we raised $960 for Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary and a whopping $1445 for the Canadian Native Friendship Centre in Edmonton.
How Military Family Resource Centres help troops and their families
Located all across Canada, Military Family Resource Centres (MFRCs) are essential community hubs for members of Canada’s Armed Forces and their families, including veterans and reservists.
Being part of a military family comes with significant challenges, including frequent relocations, deployments, separations, and transitions from military to civilian life. If your spouse or parent is in the military, you have to handle all the stresses of day-to-day life, but you’re often doing it without your partner or in a community where you don’t know anyone other than your co-workers.
That’s where the MFRCs come in. They’re available to help not just CAF members but also their families. Through a combination of in-house services and outside referrals, they offer counselling and mental-health support, employment and career assistance for spouses, childcare and youth programs, educational support, relocation assistance, social and recreational activities, and support for families of ill, injured, or fallen CAF members.
Between them, the Edmonton and Calgary MFRCs support military families across Alberta.
